The Meaning Behind the Name
The name MűMű is a playful abbreviation of the Hungarian term Művészeti Műhely, which translates directly to Art Workshop.

While our roots are deeply planted in classical art education, MűMű has evolved far beyond its original meaning. Today, it has become a vibrant Creative Hub—a versatile space where traditional techniques like academic drawing and oil painting meet modern digital arts, ceramics, and textile design.

The Story and Mission of MűMű
The story of MűMű began in 2020 as the Art Sapce (MŰvészeti MŰhely) of Liget Tanoda. Today, we operate as a fully independent art studio, welcoming creators at two easily accessible locations in Budapest: in the heart of Rákoskeresztúr (17th District) and near the Corvin Quarter (9th District).

Professional Mentoring & Artistic Growth

Our core concept is to bridge the gap between casual "paint-and-sip" sessions and serious, professional art training. Our workshops and courses are led by active, recognized artists with professional degrees, rather than hobbyists. Here, you can gain a solid technical foundation and genuine artistic knowledge within an inspiring yet informal environment.

Our Portfolio and Creative Community

While the main focus of MűMű is painting, drawing, and ceramics, we continuously expand our palette with graphic arts, fiber arts, and digital art workshops. We also consider it a priority to provide space and opportunities for creative handicraft makers.

We offer courses and occasional workshops throughout the entire year. While our programs primarily cater to adults, we place great emphasis on the artistic education of children and young people, offering themed art camps during school holidays.
